I have a nasty feeling I already know the answer to this, but..

I have a long-serving 500GB Linkstation, can't remember how long ago I got it, but it was a fair while.

It was behaving a bit off last night: couldn't connect to any of the shares; could ping & get in on telnet, and access the device from a browser but after logging in, clicking anywhere else brought up the login page again.  So I powered it down & restarted it.

Since then, it hasn't been visible on the network - it has a fixed IP, but wouldn't respond to a ping & wasn't showing up on an IP scanner (or NAS Navigator).  Have tried doing a factory reset, but it's still not showing up (even on DHCP server list of devices).

Power light comes on, disk spins up and the network activity light flashes. Have noticed that the fan's not spinning, though.

All important data's backed up & I could probably get the rest off the drive, but I'd rather not have to replace it.. is there anything else I can try, or is it just dead?
