Can't transfer large files to my LS-CHL86E Linkstation live NAS.

I was having problems accessing my Linkstation as a network drive from Windows & 64-bit.  I had been able to use it for several years just fine.  I thought that maybe a windows update hurt something, so I thought I should upgrade the firmware to 1.6 which I did.

Now I have a different network problem where I when I try to copy a large file (11GBytes or so) the process will start but then soon after quit with a windows 'Network Error'  that says 'There is a problem accessing L:\ Make sure you are connected to the network and try again"
Then I get a 'Restoring Network Connections' window box that says 'An error occurred while reconnecting L: to \\LS-CHL86E\Share Microsoft Windows Network: The local device name is already in use.  This connection has not been restored."

I've included a picture of the screen shots of these error boxes.
I willing to try anything to get this to work.

Thanks for the help
