LS500GL stopped working

Just the other day this device stopped communicating

i checked it and the fan was not turning.

when i reboot,it will beep consistently until i silence the alarm (sounds like a cop car from england..lol)

the error light will flash 6 times then pause and then flash agin 6 times...so on

the drive spins up fine

(i removed the drive and recovered my data using knoppix)

power light flashes at first then it finally beeps again and shuts down

during this link active flickers like it is trying to negotiate the network.

i can not ping the IP i statically assigned?

no web access

and ideas?

Are you able to try to ping the default IP of 192.168.11.150?

 

You can try booting into EM mode then using TFTP boot to flash the current firmware onto the Linkstation Pro.

 

You can read the sticky regarding the EM mode & TFTPboot on the Storage mainpage of this forum.

I didn't know that was the default IP..cool..i had put a static Ip originally when i first set it up

i will look into the EM mode & reflash..
