Hello, After successfully running with both web access and daily email reporting for a few weeks the features stopped working following an upgrade to our broadband (to a fibre optic link). We were given a new router as part of the upgrade. The NAS is sitting happily on the LAN - our Windows 7 and Apple clients can see the various folders ok but web access stopped as did the email reporting. I set Port forwarding (port 9000) on the new router (IP address range stayed the same) ok but when trying to restart email the NAS said "unable to send email". I tried to change the web access parameters to use a new buffalonas name and key to see if this resolved the problems but the NAS save keeps reporting "unable to access buffalonas.com". Any ideas or suggestions?

I have just bought the Linkstation Pro Quad and setup the Buffalonas access which worked without any problem. The next day when I tried to connect I find I am having the same problems as you (maracs). One thing I noticed has changed is that the router now shows the NAS as unknowndevice (then MAC address) where as before it showed it as LS-QVL1. Its possible the router might have been turned off and on (grandchildren) but everything else is working OK except the Buffalo webaccess/email.

I have another brand of NAS and that works OK when using it Webaccess service.

Any help or sugestions would be appreciated.

I have just found the solution to the problem on line but forgot to save the details or link to the solution.
This is what I remember.

Log into NAS

Go to Extension: WebAccess and turn it off

Go to Systems: Restore/Erase and click Reset LinkStation to factory default values.

All configuration settings, users, groups, and scheduled backups are erased. Data and shared folders are not erased.

When it restarts log in with either current name and password or if its reset the password Admin and Password.

Set up WebbAccess again ( I used Easy WebAcess settings) which worked OK.

You will have to set up all your settings, users, groups, and scheduled backups again.

I hope you have a backup of your data just in case anything goes wrong.
