Movies black screen and audio from different movie??

Hello, I have a LinkStation Pro Duo (LS-WVLD4B with firmware 1.65) and copied a lot of data. Created 2 shares...1 with movies and 1 with tv shows.
What happens is that from my pc or  my popcorn, many (already happened with 20-30) movies, just show a black screen, it says in the time xx / 27 hs (instead of 2hs for example) and plays sound from a tv show in a different share... How can I troubleshoot? Is there a scan/fix that I can run on my buffalo? (it has 2 3TB WD NAS drives, and a RAID that just joins them as a 6TB drive).

Install the correct codec on your PC!!!

Thanks. Codec is not the issue. Same mkv worked on an external USB, and issue is from PC and from popcorn. Also a codec issue might not show video or audio but won't pull audio from a different file.

Any other idea?

Update the firmware and reset the Linkstation via the admin page (system - restore/erase - restore Linkstation).

Once done reenable the media server and check the results again.

Thanks, the firmware is 1.65, according to the download site its the latest.
Also, can it be reset without loosing the date or I need to backup the 5TBs I already have used first?

Latest firmware is 1.68, reset shouldn't affect the data but there should be no question of you having a backup at all times.

looking at http://www.buffalotech.com/support-and-downloads/downloads with model LS-WVL/E, I only see firmware 1.65. Where can I find 1.68 ?

Now I will see how to upgrade it without loosing any data

Upgrading firmware does not effect data but make sure you have a backup just incase.
