Hi,

When I try to create a new folder on my drive, I get:

Error 0x8000FFF Catastrophic Failure

I can still access the existing folders and I have already checked the drive for errors and found none.

I have never updated the firmware but I have nowhere no back up my data before I do it, this is my backup for all my computers, I have nowhere big enough to copy it...

Windows 8.1 x64 system.

Any help?

Thanks.

If you keep all your data on 1 device then it IS NOT a backup. You will need to backup your data and reformat the HDD.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
Having network issues? Drop me an email: info@interwebsireland.com and we will get it fixed!

Have i helped you? Buy me a coffee as a thanks!

The HD-HXU3 is an external storage drive, the original data is ON MY COMPUTERS - this is the backup. Obviously I could backup my backup, but was hoping for an alternative resolution.

Thanks anyway.

Anyone else..?
