It runs the instllation fine, but when i try to add files i get the message that it's not accessible!:

The maximum number of secrets that may be stored in a single system has been exceeded.

Can anybody advise what's up pls??

Afraid i don't know much about machines, don't eve know how to find out what firmware i'm using.

I looked this up and it seems to be a maleware issue,  do you have another computer you could try this on

thank you my fishy friend, can i download this malware from the buffalo website? do you need any more info from me?

No other computer i'm afraid, just the family one.

   Is this a virus!! http://forums.buffalotech.com/i/smilies/16x16_man-surprised.gif" title="Man Surprised" alt=":mansurprised:" border="0">

Malware is a bad thing... it's a catch-all term for viruses, spyware, adware, trojans, and worms. So no, you can't get it from the buffalo site :)

It appears that the message you're getting is related to the number of passwords stored on your system. I'm not finding much on how to fix it through a cursory google search, but this is definitely a Windows issue and not something wrong with the drive.

ok colin137 thanks for your input, i'll do some virus scans and see if that does the trick and have another go tomorrow. Maybe this could be why my ipod has guffed up also?

Cheers chaps, i'll let you know how i get on, appreciate the advice.

ok, no change been speaking to different people who say i can repair windows using my windows CD or restore windows from before the error started. but i wonder, can i restore just my profile as doing this may effect everybodys profiles who use the computer.

Any thoughts please?

System Restore shouldn't delete user files or settings AFAIK, but that's a Windows issue.
