I have an existing Linkstation LS-VL with root access. I just received a Terastation Pro 8TB rackmount TS-RVHLB0E, with NFS support.
I want to be able to access the Terastation from my smaller LS-VL. I can access with r/w from Windows just fine.

LS-VL Hostname: NAS 10.0.0.8
Terastation: TS-RVHLB0E 10.0.0.9

On NAS I can run: showmount -e 10.0.0.9
Export list for 10.0.0.9:
/mnt/array1/share 10.0.0.9/255.255.255.0

Then running:
mount -t nfs 10.0.0.9:/mnt/array1/share /mnt/disk1/share/terastation
mount: 10.0.0.9:/mnt/array1/share failed, reason given by server: Permission denied

Running command: smbclient -L 10.0.0.9  works just fine, and I can even connect to the smb share this way.
I just can't get it to mount from my Buffalo Linkstation LS-VL with root.

TO be honest your on the wrong forum if you want to ask that question.. go to http://forum.buffalo.nas-central.org/ and ask there as you have root access so that means you lost Buffalos support and if someone has done this here, the chance of them seeing this post is not that high. i have mine rooted on one unit but i don't use NFS so i wouldn't know how to answer your question. Asking a forum that exploits the units is your best bet.
Units I own: TS-XL, TS-WXL, LS-WVL, TS-RXL,  TS5400, TS-RVHL,

I don't work for Buffalo but i do love there products enough to help people
