I currently have a LS-Q4/R5 (not sure about exact number after the Q4, I'm at work) with 4 1TB drives.

Can I replace the drives with 2TB disks? If I replace them one at a time will the raid 5 array automatically increase in size?

Backup your data.
Replace the HDDs, follow the TFTP process with the TFTP boot image for your unit. This will put it into EM Mode, then reinstall the firmware in its debug state, selecting "Rebuild Partition Table"

FYI: There is no way to upgrade the HDD capacity with erasing the contents of the unit.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
