Buffalo Drivestation DDR Software Loss of Functionality

This is my second post related to Buffalo Drivestation DDR.  I am wondering if my speed issue in the other post may be related to the horrible Buffalo software (or my problem with it) needed to attain the speed.  Let me explain and then ask two questions.

Either the TurboPCEX (probably this) or the Cache Control tool (probably not this since this merely turns on and off the Buffalo drive cache) has removed important necessary Windows functionality that I must regain, even at the expense of disabling the Buffalo software.  For a while Buffalo would allow Windows Explorer functionality to re-emerge if I made several attempts to copy or move files.  Now this no longer appear to be the case.

In Windows (7 Ultimate in my case) Explorer file management gives me excellent choices when it finds a file of the same name in the directory to which I am copying:  Windows Explorer choices allows me to 1) skip, 2) replace, or 3) move/copy and keep both copies, and 4) to execute my choice for all remaining conflicts.

However, TurboPCEX only asks me 'Will you overwrite?" and gives choices of 1) Yes, 2) Update All 3) Skip (once) or 4) Cancel.  THIS HAPPENS EVEN IF THAT FILE COPY/MOVE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BUFFALO DRIVE!!! And no, I have not installed any other Buffalo software such as backup.  Why does this matter – let me tell you.

As an example, if I am preparing a slideshow, copying several hundred pictures, a hundred of which are different pictures with the same name (like imgxxx.jpg), Windows Explorer allows me to move/copy and keep all files (explorer inserts an (2)), and the operation is over in a matter of seconds.  And then I can sort by date and have a slide show in order of how the pictures were taken.  However, Buffalo software does not allow the copy/move and keep both copies.  Buffalo makes me individually one hundred times tell Buffalo TurboPCEX software to skip (all the while Buffalo is repositioning the cursor at the cancel button each time I make a choice to skip, making me move the cursor over and over again and make the choice to skip over and over again.  Then I would have to go into the directories from which I am copying the files and change the names one-by-one (manually writing down which files are the ones for which I need to change the name), then begin the copy all over again.  This would add hours, if not days, to what in Windows Explorer is a 3-second choice.  It also makes a very labor intensive operation with great possibility I might make a mistake.

And almost as a side note, Buffalo software file copy/move operations all on the c-drive are astoundingly slow compared to Windows Explorer.  This is obviously some kind of bug in the Buffalo software.   If this were the only problem, I would find it necessary to uninstall the Buffalo software to regain the ability to copy large files in minutes instead of days.

THIS IS ALL VERY STUPID!!!  What were you thinking Buffalo???  Give me back the wonderful windows functionality.   Why is Buffalo involved in my c-drive file copy/move when I am not backing anything up and the Buffalo is not even connected.

For a while, if I removed the Buffalo Drive I could regain Windows functionality.  But I am unable to hit eject without 100% of the time being told that the Buffalo is in use, to try later.  Doesn't this defeat the purpose of a removable drive?  I can remove all my other USB drives.

QUESTIONS:
1)    How can I make TurboPCEX stop doing this to my Windows Explorer file move & copy operations (e.g., all on the c-drive) and regain my Windows Explorer functionality?
2)   How can I remove the Buffalo Drive without shutting down the PC?  Must I merely wait until the lights stop blinking, hope for the best, and quickly unplug the USB cable?

+1 to that.

Also I have limited account (in windows 7) so earlier when I had to copy something and I needed Admin privileges it would ask me. But this new TurboPC software has disabled it and I cannot do that. I have to uninstall the program due to this. Very sad. You could have just enabled the software when the external drive is plugged in and transfer is between them or given an option to enable/disable the same in tray.

Also in regard to the OP you can download a software called unlocker. Just use it to kill any process which is still accessing the external drive due to which you are not able to eject the drive.
