I had an issue with my linkstation duo recently, in that it wouldn't start up.  I managed to get it into em mode, reflash the fw and it started up.  However, it said that drive 1 on my array had an error.  I've replaced the drive with a new one but its still showing as having an error.  Any ideas of ways to repair this?

Any help appreciated!

Thanks

Neil

Thats the problem, the button to do it isn't active :-(

rediscover the disk first. Post a screen shot of the system/storage section.

**A single copy of data, even on a RAID array, is NOT a backup! Hard drive failure is not a question of IF, but WHEN! Don't take my word for it, take Google's!**

Ok, had another look (and attached a screen shot).  If I go to repair the array (which I can click) it warns me that all data will be lost (which I dont want to happen)

Although the rediscover disk button is there, its always greyed out.

Its Raid 1

Thanks again

That message, if you read it carefully actually warns you that it's going to overwrite the disk you are restoring to and that IT will be lost if it has data. Which it probably doesn't.

I was reading the message late at night...hence my confusion!!!

I'll have another bash at it tonight.

Thanks again

The rebuild did the trick!  All back and working and didn't need to use the new drive.

Thanks all for your help

Most Welcome! Back your data up to another location immediately if you have not already done so. (do not pass go, do not collect $200).

You might consider attaching a USB Drive to the Linkstation and running a nightly backup of your most important files. My home network has a share I call 'Safe_Share' and it is backed up to an attached DriveStation every night.
