I'm trying to reflash my Linkstation Live after playing with a flash JTYMOD to install squeezecenter.  I downloaded the latest updater but always get the error "LS-CHL that needs updating wasn't found"--I can see my Linkstation on my network and the web interface is functioning.

Any idea on how I can get back to the stock flash?

I'm sorry, but if you've flashed a third party program/firmware on the NAS you have pretty much voided your warranty. However, you could try performing a http://forums.buffalotech.com/buffalo/board/message?board.id=0101&message.id=330#M330" target=_blank>TFTP boot and then a http://forums.buffalotech.com/buffalo/board/message?board.id=0101&message.id=277#M277" target=_blank>firmware reflash although I cannot guarantee this will solve your issue.

Thank you for the instructions, completely understand about the warranty being voided.

I'm not able to complete the TFTP boot instructions.  I don't understand how to boot the LS-CHL in EM Mode.  Can you provide instruction on how to do this.

Dustrega

You will have to hold down the function button for 6 seconds before powering on the NAS. Continue to hold down the function button while powering the device on to boot to EM.

Thank you for the help with going into EM mode.  I'm not sure that the TFTP step is actually performed since I don't see the files being copied in the window.

However I have been able to have to at least get the updater to start now.  Unfortunately after several windows showing firmware being transfered, I get the error "LS-GL15F returns an error (ACP_STATE_FAILURE)" and the updating is aborted.

Any thoughts on what to try next?

That might be the problem. Make sure that you downloaded the correct firmware because the model in that error message doesn't match the model you first posted.

I think that model number is from the 3rd party software flash I did.  Is there anyway to over write this?

Jason

If you flashed some kind of third party firmware/software onto it, it could have altered the kernel, making the updater unable to sucesfully apply the firmware. If that is the case then you'd be out of luck.

Understand, I was afraid this was the case.  Anyway, thanks for the help.
