I just set up the linkstation live ls-ch500l to my wireless D-Link router (model # dir-655).  I thought since the NAS is attached to the wireless router via ethernet cable the drive would show up for anyone on my wireless connection.  The NAS is using the static IP of my macbook pro.

I would like to know how I get the NAS to appear on my network as an additional drive for other laptops on my wireless.

Thanks

is your router hard wired into a pc or anything?

No the router is not hard wired into a PC.  All the computers are laptops on my network.

I'd say if the NAS is using the same IP as the macbook pro that would be causing a conflict, and could be why it can not be found. To be sure turn your macbook pro off, which should take it off the network, and you may just have to restart the NAS. See if it then will respond to a ping.
