2 local users

Hi

I want to know if there is a way to configure local users, with rights over the shared folders but without web access, and web users with limited rights (read only) and possibility to access datas from Internet.

So far i wasn't able to do so cause the web access set up do not allow to made difference between users. At less if you have right on a shared folder you can automatically access via Internet to this folder if web access is configure. I would like to know if there is a way to limit web access to user i choose and not all users configured...

Sorry english is not my native language, I hope i was clear enough... ;)

HI

no one have an idea for this problem....

Thanks in advance :)

You have to go and set the permissons after you set up the web access.

When you made the web access were the permisson set already and if they were you have to set the persmissions after you created the web access.

Thanks for the answer but that doesn't seem to work...

What I want :

- I want local users to access the shared folders without login/password and restrictions (if possible).

To do so i disable access resrictions for each folder (so i don't create any local user in "user management"). I don't want these local users to have a web access.

- I also want to create a web user with login and password and restricted rights (read only) on selected folders.

To do so I created one user (user management) and after I edited, in "web access - folder set up", a folder and activated web access with "allow all groups/user".I did not configure any access rights for this folder in "shared folders set up".

That's nearly good cause my local users have free access to datas and the web user has access to the folders i selected...BUT there is still a problem cause the web user have full access to the datas (upload and delete...).

The only way I see to solve this problem is to set up access rights for this web user in shared folders set up. But this way the access restriction are activated so my local users can'not acces the shared folders freely.

The solution I try then is to configure 3 users (login/passewords in "user management") and set up the permission access for each one ("shared folders set up").

This way the local users have total acess to the folders and the web user has limited rights on selected folders...perfect but with this configuration (web acess - folders set up - use inherited folder permissions) the three users can access data from Internet...and i don't like that.

I tried this way too :

- creating user

- setting up web access (allows groups /users)

- setting up restrictions access...

...but i don't see the difference

Is there sommething i did wrong, can you give me more details on how to obtain what i want : 2 local users with total access to folders but without web access and one or more web users with read only rights on selected folders ?

Unfortunately what you are looking to do cannot be accomplished on these devices. This is something I will pass along to the engineers for future consideration, but for right now it is not possible to split a user's permissions between local and web access.

thanks for the answer.

So i'll have to choose another solution... waiting for an firmware update.

That's pleasant to see a responsive web support  :)
