The link station share stoped working I was not able to acces it, you culd hear a click about every 4 seconds, like a HD failure, I was still able to mount the USB drive atached, I read many messages here in the forum and I try evrething, load firmware, fore load, etcc. with no luck. So I remove the drive from the link station put it on an enclosure and atached as USB on a Link station Pro duo that I have, I was able to see the first partition, I delete the first 3 o 4 small partions on the HD, and mounted again as USB on the Link Station Pro duo and it work I was able to get my information from the hard drive, now the problem is that what are the steps to either put back the same drive or a new drive for the matter in to the link station, I try it but I show a had drive failure and can go any further, so if I buy a new drive what are the steps to put this new drive in the link station.

Thanks fro reading this long story and thaks in advacne for your help

What Operating system are you using to access the drive?

It needs to be Linux, neither Windows or Mac OSX can read the EXT3 filesystem on the drive without buying extra software.
