I'll try to be brief but still provide enough info about the problem I experienced last night trying to use FTP to synchronize windows directories between my office and the LinkStation 1.0tb at my home.

In this particular instance, the directory scheme contains thousands of individual directories that are nested within each other.

Using Voyager FTP Scheduler to kick-off the Synchronize Task automatically.  It connects fine and starts the normal sequence of CWD command, PORT command, and LIST command, to determine what files have changed and need to be transferred to the LinkStation.

Everything is going fine until all of the PORT commands start failing with a message of:

500 Illegal PORT command

The CWD commands are still being performed successfully.

The PORT failures continue for a total of 3 minutes and then mysteriously start working again.  Then everything proceeds as normal.

Unfortunately, while the PORT commands were failing the LIST commands were not being performed so those directories were not examined for changed files and consequently were skipped and not synchronized on the LinkStation.

I'm trying to figure out why the PORT commands failed so that I can perhaps avoid this going forward.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
