I have just purchased, configured, and installed a LinkStation Pro Duo on my network.  I have it pluged into a 3com switch providing it access to the network.  Every other device is also connected to this series of stacked switches, including the router.

Every now and again, frequently, and for no discernable reason (cannot find a pattern) the LS Pro appears to freeze, restart, and in so doing, causes the network to crash.  I have no idea what is going on.  I thought it was the equipment at first so have RMA'd the first one and received another.  This one is doing the same thing.

I have it set up as a RAID 1, with 2 shares, no files moved to it yet, with a static IP Address and no extraneous services installed, such as FTP, AppleTalk, etc. I have even disabled the trashcan function.

My normally stable network went offline (I have one DNS Server, one File Server, and one SQL server).  It appears to be generating some serious interference becasue it causes my DNS server to go down (which is also my domain controller and Exchange Server).  Without DNS, no UNC name works and all access to the network drives, Exchange, shared databases, etc. is disrupted.  This is a MAJOR pain in the butt.

WHAT IS GOING ON?  If anyone has any ideas, I'd really appreciate some feedback.

Thanks.
