I am attempting to get access to my NAS while outside my network. I am using Covad DSL, connected through a Netopia 2247 modem (NOT in bridged mode!) set up for PPPOE and authenticating at this point. The modem is connected to a Linksys WRT54GS router. The NAS is connected to the Linksys router. I have the modem set up for upnp, and the router is port forwarded to port 9000. I have followed all the instructions for enabling web access through the web interface. I have webaccess service, http/ssl encryption and use buffalonas.com all enabled.Upnp is disabled and the external part is 9000. I have no issues at all connecting via the web in my lan. I am unable to connect away from my lan. I want to emphasize that I followed the instructions for service set up to a tee. An/all help that you can provide is GREATLY appreciated!

Then it's unlikely the port is forwarded correctly. Try either telnetting into the port from outside your lan, or if your inside your lan go to canyouseeme.org and check to see if it can querry port 9000.
