We have a whr-g125 router which we have set up ok but we cannot secure the network as when we put a key in the network goes off and we cannot reconnect using the pass key that we set... any ideas please

Make sure the firmware is up to date.  Then log in to the IP address of the router and under the wireless security tab you can select TKIP with a pre-shared key.

the key must be 8 characters or longer.

Your trying to set it up with a wireless connection, security needs to be setup with a wired connection.
