Yesterday we had some issues with our Linkstation Pro Duo and contacted Buffalo Support.  The fan was not operating correctly and after a reboot of the NAS the device initialized properly and we were back in business.  At the end of the call the support technician said I should backup the data and update the firmware.  Well, I missed the backup the data point and went ahead with the firmware update.  Now the Linkstation boots, I am able to access it with NAS Navigator, and the Web UI.  Unfortunatley I'm now receiving an E14 Array Will Not Mount error and all of our data is inaccessable.

From the Web UI, the drives report normal as does the array.  Unfortunatley it is also configured in RAID 0.  Are there any suggestions before I pay the $800-$1200 from Buffalo's data recovery company to get our data back?

I'm a novice Linux admin, but want to hear from an expert before removing drives and attempting to mount them with Ubuntu that it's feasable to access the /dev6/ partition in a dual drive Raid 0 arrangement.

Any experts care to share some advice?  And I know I should have had a backup, so we can just pass on that bit of advice.

Thanks!
