I was just wondering if there's a way to transfer all the files from my 1TB Linkstation Live to a 3TB one, without needing my desktop pc to facilitate the transfer. They're both on the same network, plugged in to adjacent sockets on my router. I've just upgraded them both to firmware 1.64, too. Cheers in advance.

If you don't care about the warrenty, and  have a USB HDD 3.5" case, I'd just pull the HDD off the 1tb NAS, and store it into the USB HDD, plug it into the other NAS and whilst the light turning blue, click the front button, so the blue starts blinking (it transfers all the files over in a directory called: YYDDMM (If I remember corectly)

The LS-X3.0TL doesn't have a usb port, it's just the 3tb version of the 1tb Linkstation Live that I had.

I can't seem to select a Backup Target via that method

*EDIT* Think I've sorted it. Says it's running, just hope it is.

How'd you do it? Bit curious myself about this, as I have another NAS in my house with 2 open bays.

Didn't realise that the Disk Backup setting is off by default on new Linkstations.

On "shared folders" in the web settings I selected what I was going to backup to, checked the box next to Disk Backup and saved.

On the old drive, I went to System -> Backup -> Create New Job

Then set up a new backup with the old drive as the Source and the new drive as the Target, saved and it started up without a hitch.

It's gonna take a few hours (at 20% since I last posted), but at least I can let it work by itself and just check in every now and then. Cheers guys.
