I have a TS-XE8.0TL/R5  that is causing DCOM error 10009 in my SBS2008 server. I have the TS set up with dual nics. Any ideas on what to look for to eliminate the errors?

howeco,

I've had the same issue on a different device ( TS-RVH4.0 TL/R6). I emailed support and the first reply I got was that it's a windows issue that it obviously isn't. Port 135 needs to be opened for DCOM to work. After I replied to that, this is the response I got:

"You can Google and attempt to find a way to enable that port you are asking. I will ask my Windows Server expert and forward you his reply as well if there was a solution."

A Buffalo support tech telling me to google for a solution... Amazing. Anyway, I'll keep you updated if I actually receive a response.

howeco,

Just an update. I tried removing the computer from AD and then re-adding it as a pre-windows 2000 computer which didn't work. Then, I tried moving the computer out of the "My Business\Computers" OU into a separate OU and that didn't work. I finally got to the point where I said screw it and removed it from the Domain. If Buffalo comes back and knows how to have it joined to the domain and not have it throw 10009 errors all the time I'll re-add it, but until then I'm not messing with it.

Good luck
