Both Buffalo hard drives inaccessible after power outage

Hey folks. I have two Buffalo external hard drives. The first is a Linkstation model LS-1000GL, and the other is, I think, a Linkstation Live that is a couple years old, but I cannot find a model number on it anywhere. We had a power outage tonight and now neither of them is accessible. The first one turns on and the power and Link/ACT lights blink normally, but the fan does not turn on and then the red error light starts blinking and beeping. The other turns on and the LAN/USB light turns on, but the blue LED light at the top does not. I cannot find either of them with NasNavigator (V2.43), and neither of them responds to pressing the reset button. I am concerned that the power outage damaged them both, even though they are plugged into a surge protector and have been through power outages before.

If anyone can offer any insight I would be grateful. I am not remotely tech savvy, so please use small, easy to understand words. Thank you!
