Hi:

I turned my PC on this morning and was presented with this error message..see below for photo.

As luck would have it...I have 3 weeks left on my 3-Year Square Trade Warranty.

After reading the forum, it looks like this could be a motherboard or hard drive problem...what do you think I should tell them or do?

Thanks,

Mitch

whats a square trade warranty? as far as im aware they only have a 1 -2 year warranty, eitherway, backup your data, update to the latest firmware and reset the unit to defaults (System -> Restore/Erase -> Restore Linkstation to Factory Defaults)

The error means you are having an issue with HDD2, this can either be logical (partition failure) or physical (defective HDD). Either way, once you have followed the above instructions rebuild the RAID and see if it resolves the issue.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

I'll give it a shot.

SquareTrade is an aftermarket warranty company...I purchased a 3-year warranty for $25 that covers everything. GREAT COMPANY!

I reset to default settings and updated the firmware version and I still get the same error.

I know get a different error message, see below image:

Log onto the web admin page System -> Storage -> Array1 (under your RAID options) -> Rebuild RAID. This process can take 24 hours to complete once started.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

The array rebuilt it self last night and I still get the below error.

The first error show above was pointing towards a hard drive, now I have no idea?

Do you think it's safe to say I have a problem and that I should make a warranty claim...I only have about 3-weeks left.

I suggest you try go to admin > storage to disable the Raid and replace a brand new hard disk to try diagnose if it is the NAS or Storage failure first. Once eliminate if it is your HDD, try insert the 2nd disk into the first slot and get the NAS up first follow by restoring data from your previous 1st HDD.

*This is my personal advice from my point of view and hope it will help.

Have you tried running a disk check on the HDD showing errors?
