Hi,

I bought a Drivestation Duo (USB 3.0, 4 TB). The fan is working at system start and turns off after a few seconds. I am wondering why the fan is not cooling down the hard drives during operation. During a testdrive the hdd reached about 62 degree Celsius but the fan did not start. The raid tool says status is normal/stopped.

Any idea?

Thanks,

Andreas

After a reboot I got the message vom the raid tool that the device is too hot and I should check the fan. Curios. However the fan status is still normal/stopped.

Update: I tried again a backup test and the drive reached 54 degree Celsius without starting the fan. The raid tool is running. OS is Windows 8.
