I was recently given a Terastation Pro model TS-HTGL/R5 as work have upgraded to new NAS'.

I plugged it into my home router and fired it up - it then showed the following errors:

RAID ERROR E13

Array1 Error

HD3 ERROR

HD3 Faulty

OPERATION MODE I12

Degrade Mode

I promptly went out and bought a new 500gb HDD to replace the faulty unit (which was found to be faulty in another PC bay too).

I have re-inserted the new HDD although still recieve the HD3 error as it has not been set up through the web maintenece area as yet.

The problem I am facing is that I simply cannot access the Web Maintence area of the Terastation.

It presently has a fixed IP address of 192.168.1.252

I have plugged the Terastation directly into my PC and altered my PC's IP address to be fixed at 192.168.1.251 so that it is in the same range.

The NAS Navigator can see the drive, it gives all the relevant info and displays the drive space available and used etc.

It cannot however map any network drives and when I select web maintenence it brings up the browser which after a while says cannot display pages diagnose network connection problems.

I have further tried to download the latest firmware and updater, having disabled all firewalls and anti-virus software, I run it and it says it cannot detect the Terastation.

The NAS Navigator shows the Terastation as being on a workgroup so I changed my computers workgroup name to replicate that of the terastation but this did not work either.

I have tried booting it up whilst holding the INIT button, the tune plays and after a while it reverts to the above errors as before.

If I could just get into the web maintence area I could set the IP back to not being fixed, sort out the new HDD and carry on as normal, but obviously I cant.

I also cannot see the Terastation as a drive, I have tried to ping the address with no luck either.

Does anyone have any suggestions at all?

If you're able to get an IP address and you've set an IP in the same network, what happens when you try to connect with Internet Explorer? Did you put a gateway in your IP configuration or did you leave in blank?
