LS Pro Duo - Firmware Upg. - Lost Playlist Support

I just upgraded the firmware on my LS Pro Duo to V3.09 (from V3.07). I use it with two DLNA clients - a PS3 and a Sony wireless player VGF-WA1. Prior to upgrade, both devices were able to flawlessly access *.M3U playlist files and play the associated tracks accordingly.

 

Immediately after the firmware upgrade, only playlist files created in Windows Media Player with the *.WPL extension show up on the players. The *.M3U files are no longer available on either player.

 

I've completely migrated away from Windows Media Player, and rely extensively on playlists. I hope there is a solution to this.

 

Any ideas? If all else fails, can I fall back to the prior version?

PS: I tried to reinstall the upgrade, but the install software reported the versions the same and would not proceed.

Try resetting it to defaults from the web interface: Maintenance->Initialization->Restore, then set up the media server again.

Resetting and setting up the media server again as you described did not fix the problem. If anyone else wants to try this, be prepared to set up much of your Linkstation again, like IP, web access, media server, etc. I needed to pull out the set up CD to get it going again.

 

Also, shuffling a playlist doesn't work as well since the firmware upgrade. I have a playlist of over 100 songs, and I now will here several songs repeat themselves (sometimes three times) within an hour.

 

It almost seems as though there's an older version of the dlna media server included with the new firmware upgrade. I noticed people are having trouble with streaming video as well.

 

Can I roll back to V3.07?

We don't have a copy of 3.07 available, but I'll look into it. 3.08 is available on our ftp site:
