Hi all,

I have a Buffalotech TeraStation with a RAID10 and one of the hard drives failed. I replaced it as it was instructed and now here is a weird problem... Instead of automatically recovering the array, the failed drive (#3) is not in the array anymore. It is simply there like a normal hdd. How can I add it back to the array to make it work in my RAID? I don't want to lose all my data... the only way I can see is by deleting the array and creating a new one but in that case I guess I will lose all my files.
Is there a way to only add the #3 drive back in the array?

Thanks a lot

Assuming that the RAID array is still showing degraded you should be able to go into the RAID and hit the "recover RAID array" button. If you have formatted the drive in the TeraStation this will not work. You must remove the drive and delete the partition on it using something like diskpart in Windows. Here are the directions for that: http://www.buffalotech.com/knowledge-base/cleaning-a-disk-in-windows-7-using-diskpart.exe
