Hi Guys,

I have a relatively old NAS (this one in fact: http://www.buffalotech.com/products/network-storage/linkstation/linkstation-live-ls-chl">LS-CH500L) and was wondering if I was able to use it as an iTunes server and if so, how do I set it up?

Thanks,

John

just put the music in a folder on the drive.

then in web admin go to Extensions > Media Server > iTunes server > modify settings

enable the media server and set the folder you want the media server to watch.

you can then access the music from any computer on the LAN.

Thanks for getting back to me.

All my music is already in the Media\Music folder however, I don't have any itunes server options (my NAS didn't come with an iTunes server, that was included in later models)

what firmware version do you have?

if you look at the downloads section http://www.buffalotech.com/products/network-storage/linkstation/linkstation-live-ls-chl">here it says that if you have 1.11 or lower then 1.12 is the highest compatible version you can install.

i'm not sure if itunes media server was included in this firmware version.

I've got 1.12 installed.

I was afraid that it was the highest I could go to.

Never mind, thanks for your help anyway.
