MiniStation Plus 2TB USB 3.0 (HD-PNT2.0U3GB): will it ask for drivers?

I am considering buying MiniStation Plus 2TB USB 3.0 portable hard drive. Before I do that, I must know for sure whether it will be nagging me to install manufacturer-specific drivers on Windows or will it be happy with the standard built-in Windows driver? Can't find exact information anywhere on that. I just need a portable bus-powered 2TB drive that works as a standard drive without asking to install any of the manufacturer-specific drivers.

Thanks!

Correct, it will automatically install the drivers once the Ministation is connected for the first time.

One thing you might want to consider though, if you intend to set a password then the decrypting software will need to be install on any PC you want to use it with.

You you are just looking for a bare bone USB HDD then go for the HD-PCTU3.

HD-PCTU3 - can't find a product with such product ID... A link, maybe?

And it seems like the drive that I am looking at is the only 2TB portable model available from this manufacturer (2TB is one of the requirements)

Many thanks! Already ordered and just received the HD-PNT2.0U3GB, it works without any nagging, just like you were saying.

And yes, I am not planning to use the encryption, so I won't have to deal with installing any software for that.

Thanks for the link to HD-PCTU3, but it seems like its 2TB version has not reached retail yet anyway (judging by US Google Shopping), so I don't mind paying a bit extra for HD-PNT2.0U3GB and the encryption functionality that I won't use.

Thanks for you help, I just got myself a "HDD of my dreams" (bus-powered, USB 3.0, 2TB) :)
