Hi.

I've just bought and set up a LinkStation Duo Pro LS-WVL759

I'm having trouble with the Navigator, as it cannot find the LinkStation while on wireless. I've seen other threads on this, but no sound solution.

Laptop

Dell Latitude. Windows 7 enterprise, SP1, 64 bit.

Linkstation Duo Pro LS-WVL759

Firmware 1.62 (it tells me this is the newest when I try t update).
Only thing I have changed on the LinkStation is to set the Storage to Raid 1. No access control have been implemented.

Navigator 2
Downloaded from here: http://www.buffalo-technology.com/en/linkstatio-pro-duo-downloads.html">http://www.buffalo-technology.com/en/linkstatio-pro-duo-downloads.html

Router

Asus RT N56U. Default setup.

The LS is plugged into a LAN port on this router. This router servers as my wireless point, and if I use a cable I plug the laptop into this router (next to the LS).

Situation with the laptop on wireless
I've mapped the LS to a local drive, and it works after a reboot as well.
I can log in to the LS admin module.
The Navigator does NOT find the LS.

The Navigator DOES find the LS.

Firewall
I'm using the standard Windows firewall. I cannot (and would not) turn it off.
By default, the firewall allows for ALL traffic outbound from the laptop.
There have also been added some extra rules for nasnavi (during installation I guess) and I've also added extra rules that explicitly allows all protocols and ports to the relevant IPs.
I've added rules to allow all ports and all protocols from the LS Inbound to the laptop.
I've enabled logging in the fire wall, and I see no blocks, but several allows when I try the Navigator.
The firewall rules seems to be all the same for wired and wireless connections.

Please advice.

Regards,

-Terry

My bad...

Too many new things at once I suppose. I have an older router from my ISP that serves as my DSL modem. You can already guess what happened I suppose.
My Asusrouter that is my wireless connection point was plugged into the old ISP router, and the LS was also plugged into that ISP router. The LS, naturally, should have been plugged into the Asus router.

Seems to work now.

-Terry
