I am using a TS-XE8.0TL/R5, with informational / error messages of I14: Array1 Checking and E14: Can't mount Array1. When I login to the admin console, I receive the message "All features are disabled until the disk is completely checked/formatted. Also, file sharing is not available."  This has been happening over four days now.  It started with a request to "Check Disk".  I believe the firmware is 1.41, per the display panel.

 How can I get back to using the disks? (Restart!) How can I stop the process?  Should I never run the check disk process again?

I've read various messages in this forum, where this process takes a while for some, others seem to not have it functioning but I haven't seen a resolved case where it can be stopped.  Thanks in advance for any help!

E14 means the RAID has collasped, update to the 1.57 firmware and reset it to defaults via the admin page (System -> Restore/Erase -> Restore Terastation to Defaults)

If it is still showing the same error then the RAID will need to be deleted and recreate, which will erase any data on the unit.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

Thanks!!

I was able to get back up and running, here are the steps I used:

  1. Installed/updated the firmware;
  2. After rebooting, went into disk check mode again. Couldn't do anything from the web console,
  3. Held the reset button (about 10 seconds – it will beep)
  4. Log in via the web console (can navigate at this point, even though in disk check mode)
  5. Went to the (System -> Restore/Erase -> Restore Terastation to Defaults) and restored to factory
  6. Restart the device from the web console
  7. Downloaded and install BUFFALO NAS Navigator2
  8. Ran the Navigator and finished configuration – note keep track of setting you want to keep (IP address; Default Gateway; accounts, etc.)

I got a same problem, but the system keeps defaulting to disk checking. I cannot access it through the webpage either (only the main page) to stop the disk check.
