Terastation 5200 Windows Sync Problems (Files used by another process)

Hi,

I have a major problem with my new Terastation 5200. (I also have on the network a Terastation Pro which works like a charm with none of these issues)

I have RAID setup to mirror the disks, and have setup 2 shares which I have no access restrictions.

I have added the domain correctly as I can see the domain users and groups.

I have read/write access on the domain users, AND groups.

My users can see the share, however, there are 3 things wrong.

1. File and Folder Permissions

The permissions don't "feel" right, when in Windows.

Files only have read/write permissions for the domain users group, the domain administrator is in the list with a red x next to it, also with read/write permissions and the Everyone group has read/write permissions. (When I check "Effective Permissions" all my users have everything EXCEPT Full Control, Traverse folder / execute file, Delete, Change Permissions, and Take Ownership.

My other Terastation has the same, but without the Administrator with an X in it.

Folders have the same users/groups in the the permissions box, but this time, when I check all my users in "Effective Permissions", they come up with everything ticked (Full Control)

2. Sync Problem with Windows 7

The old Terastation box works perfectly syncing with Windows 7, our new 5200 doesn't. All we get from this drive is "The process cannot access the file because it is beeing used by another process". I have set the shares to allow caching of files and folders automatically, in fact, it doesn't matter which setting I use there, it makes no difference.

The problem has to be the new 5200 because my old Terastation Pro still syncs fine.

I have double checked the registry settings regarding OpLocks for Windows and made sure they are in place (I even reversed then because I have nothing else left to try). Sync center on our 3 laptops just will no sync to this NAS box.

This is the most important problem as we use Sync and if this box cannot do it, then it'll be returned.

3. Media Website

I have turned off everything but the SMB service, however, when I browse to the box with a browser, I still get the Twonky Media website. I don't have media sharing switched on, or webserver?! Confused.

Can anyone please help me?

Many thanks,

Marty
