iTunes server and video

I purchased the LS-VL in hopes of using the Share feature in iTunes to stream movies from the NAS through iTunes on laptop to AppleTV rather than having to change libraries each time. The product description web page says that movies can be streamed using the iTunes server ("can be used as an iTunes® server to stream all of your favorite music, movies and shows to multiple devices simultaneously."),  the user manual talks only about music with no mention of movies or videos.  Having a heck of time trying to get any music or movies to be seen by the iTunes server (server can be seen in the Share section in iTunes) and I have the preferences pointing to the correct folder (Multimedia>iTunes). When I put content into that folder it does not show in the iTunes server as seen through iTunes, can't put content onto the iTunes server  directly from within iTunes. (Mac OS 10.8, iTunes 11.0.1)

1. Can the iTunes server be used to stream movies via the Share feature in iTunes to AppleTV?

2. How to set up the iTunes server to view music and movies, what am I doing wrong?

Thanks

davo

As far as I'm aware the iTunes server will only serve music, not video.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

Bummer. Wish Buffalo would do a little truth in advertising and make clear the limitations to the iTunes Server.

I agree.  I alos have to have iTunes launched and running in order to use the Media Server function.  Not sure about anyone else.

Depending on your unit the iTunes and media server may be integrated as one service.

And how does one do that? I have a LS Pro Duo. I have never been able to stream to ATV without iTunes running somewhere.
