Inherited a Linkstation Pro Duo LS-W2.0TGL/R1 from a friend. (no drives)

I plugged it into the network and it is not visible by the NasNavigator or updater tools.  Going into the Router's admin page.. I don't see it listed on the DHCP device list as getting an IP.

NOTE: I don't have MAC filtering on the router, and can see other devices such as my PC, Laptop, iPhone, and Tablet.

I tried booting it both with some old drives (which I want to reformat) and without any drives in it.

How do I reset it to factory defaults so it gets an IP and is able to be seen by the Navigator software?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

LS-W2.0TGL/R1

OK, I did that.

FIRST OFF.. I only have 1 Drive right now. -- is that a problem?

I followed FAQ 3 of 5 several times, here's what happened.

Got rapid blinking blue light -- good

Power light came on.  Activity light flashed then front panel showed a blinking Exclamation point - 6 pulses, then a slight blink from the activity light, then 6 pulses from the middle exclamation point. - repeats for several minutes.

Hit the FUNCTION key on the back once.. unit began to initialize.

TFTP server listening on 192.168.11.1:69

First file transfer fine, then Initr.bufalo timesout, almost immediately

At this point the TFTP server just sits there.

So I repeated several times.. same affect.

I downloaded the Firmware and thought maybe I should extract the files into the TFTP folder and overwrite the generic files that were in that folder.. so I did that and repeated steps.. same result.  First file says "blocks served" but 2 file almost immediately times out.

SO I run through FAQ 2 of 5 Force Firmware Update - but the LS updater says that there are no devices found.

NasNavigator can't see it either.

Is the unit DEAD?
