Is Cloudstor Pro having a major issue and being discontinued??

I have been struggling to setup RAID 1 on Cloudstor Pro for the past week. Finally after wasting lot of time on Customer support, I am being told that the device is faulty and will be replaced. But now I will have to pay the one way shipping for it. I do not understand how any company can do this, after delivering faulty product to a customer. The shipping should be free. I just had the product for few weeks. I can't belive Buffalo is ripping me off with $30 shipping fee! Especially for a faulty product they sold me.

 

I feel that refurbished product are being sold as new to innocent customer like me.

 

Also I went on many websites and they all have discontinued this product. Are there lot of customers like me who are having issues and the online vendors have pulled this product out of their site?

 

Also the customer service rep was talking something about pogoplug and buffalo contract for using pogoplug software being changed.

 

I am thinking whether I should just return it back to the vendor I purchased from or get replacement from PogoPlug.

 

I have already purchased a 2 TB Seagate Barracuda disk. But I can use that on any NAS drives from other vendors and not just Buffalo.

If you selected expedited Advanced replacement, that costs more. Standard RMAs are free in the USA.

Sorry, you are very wrong! I called them up and confirmed that I do indeed have to pay the shipping one way $30.

 

Also, I am yet to receive the RMA, after multiple attempts and assurance from Buffalo. I provided multiple email address. I have lost all confidence in this company. If this is how they treat customers, they are on fast track to loosing their customers.

 

Also, rather than have 24x7 helpdesk with couple of support engineers, I would rather have a customer service of 8 hours where my wait time is few minutes and not 30 minutes.

 

I am going to return back the cake system and go with another expensive product where my business is respected.
