I'm checking on some of those questions-but yes, we were playing those type of files as a test. Our QA team says it could be a BIOS issue if you have the latest USB drivers. We do want to find out exactly what is causing this and be able to reproduce it in our lab.  Forum Readers - are there any more of you having issues playing ripped DVD files from USB3 3TB drive?

It appears the engineers were not using Windows Media Player for testing. When they did test with it - they could reproduce the identical issue you are seeing. They were testing using VLC http://www.vlcapp.com/jump/vlc-free-m/?pk=540775&source=msn" target="_self">Download here  VLC was able to play the exact same types of files you have been trying to play over USB3 and a 3TB HDD.  VLC is a free download.
