I've had problems with webaccess and through buffalo support have been told that this firmware is broken as far as web access is concerned. Firmware 1.64 apparently on the way.
Anyone else suffering the same issue?

davo

When you try and access your buffalonas.com name is it resolving to 0.0.0.0:portnumber?

If so i have seen this on the 1.62 and 1.63 FW and the only solution i have been able to come across is to rollback to 1.60. It does not appear to effect units that had 1.60 and then upgraded but only new devices with 1.62 and 1.63.

Ive rooted one of my Linkstations and have seen a script that appears not to resolve the hostname to the IP address correctly.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

Thank you for the replies. I'm based in the UK so gained support through Buffalo on the EU site.

I have had webacces up and running previously with no problems. Then last week I could not gain access at home through my pc or externally.

I'm runniing Windows OS. Web access enabled. UPnP enalbed.

From advise I was given I ran the firmware again with debug with no luck. It was then that I was advised that the firmware was broken and that 1.64 is under way.

So, I am very surprised that you say that all is well with this firmware unless there is a difference between US and UK?

Very best regards

Hi davo

I have problems accessing web access.

As you may have helped me with my previous queries, got this WXL/E upgraded from 1.2 to 1.63

I have followed every single instructions in configuring for web access but got the error of google chrome unable to connect to x.x.x.x:9000

had uncheck the uPnP as well.

i even shared the folder to allow anonymous.

since im using the WZR-HP-G300NH2, configuring the port forwarding is a breeze following the web access tutorial.

Pls let me know what else I'm missing :-(

Dear all and helpful responders.

I've had no success accessing webaccess. Very disappointing that it should have been working and now nothing at all.

I will try to roll back to firmware 1.60 and see if that is working. However, I have had trouble finding it on-line. If someone has a link to this firmware I would be most grateful.

Further is juddnetcafe and myself the only ones with this issue?

Thank you.

It seems my wan ip add is a private ip as per my dsl provider
I requested for a fix wan ip and hopefully this solves my webaccess issue.

I am having the same issues as well.  Was working and suddenly just stated that could not find server.  Funny thing is that it is only a problem with the app but with safari I am able to have web access.  I however use the app for watching movies.  Is a fixed WAN Ip the only way to resolve this issue?

Out of curiosity, as a test, if you type your WAN IP address into the address bar of your web browser followed by a colon and the port number by which you configured web access to use (ie: port 9000) are you able to access the unit outside of the app via this method as well?

Hector

Thank you for the suggestion.

I've tried this with no success.

I have a LS CHL and have no problems accessing internally webaccess. So I don't think this is a configuration problem.

As I've had webaccess to the  LS WXL previously both internally and externally with no problems I am thinking this is a firmware issue.

I've tried rebooting again and resetting the webaccess settings to no avail. So not sure what 'bug' the Linkstation has caught!!

Happy xms one and all.

Perhaps santa may have a suggestion for me!!

Update.

Downloaded new firmware release 1.64 but Web access still didn't work.

Decided to disable webaccess completely and renew settings. However that didn't work either. Next step I decided to run debug of the firmware just to see if that would have an effect. This didn't unfortunately so I restored linkstation back to default setttings and reconfigured webaccess with a new NAS name. Restarted and low and behold it worked!!

Webaccess working internally and from iphone. All resolved and I hope others with similar problem are as fortunate.

Possibly could have cut corners here to achieve the same but I'm a learning buffalo linkstation expert in the making!!!
