If hard drive is removed from a LS-V 2.0TL, can the files be moved via another computer?

I've got an LS-V 2.0TL.  Sorry not sure of the firmware.    The blue light started blinking and I couldn't reach the device over the network anymore.  I've read some of the forums and it seems that getting this thing back to full health may be difficult to say the least.  I'm more interested in getting the information off the drive and moving on.  Even if I could get it working again, I'll be replacing it anyway as its no longer trustworthy.

I plugged the drive into a linux computer and can see the partitions and system files but not sure where the stored documents are or if its even possible to see them this way.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt
