Do not see shares on network using windows 8

Just got a new laptop, windows 8.

 

Have a LS-XL-2.0 which is working great. All my laptops can see the file shares, back up to the drive and everything..

 

i can see the media server listed, so there is network connectivity to the drive from my machine. I just can not see the stations drive and its shares.

 

is there any tips or trick to getting the shares to show up on 8?

huh... strange..

 

on a hunch.. I tried to directly connect to it.. entering \\LS-XL26A in an explorer address bar.. and it worked..

 

The device just doesnt show up on the list as you can see above under network as it does on all the other computers on my network

 

still..any idea how to get it to show up on windows explorer?

I have the same problem - any answers yet?

 

The lack of being able to see the drive in my network folder means I can't use my backup software...

Can the Nas Navigator detect it on the WIndows 8 PC?!

Yes, Nas Navigator can see it fine, and if I type the address direct in the address bar of file manager \\ls-chl etc I can see and access the files. But the link station still doesn't show up in the network list.
