Unboxing LinkStation QVL - got EM mode

Hello,

i unboxing my Linkstation Quad... i insert the HDD... connect to switch... and then on NASNavigator it turns into EM mode...

 

is there something that i miss ?

should the HDD preformatted (because it's new unformat HDD)

Just follow the steps from this link, no need to format the hdd`s.

There's no instruction for LS-QVL. However i try to press FUNCTION button (on front panel) and the turn NAS on... both button then blinking, after few minutes, the function button turn red.

 

i download the firmware update (LSUpdater),  when i tried to upgrade, it has error  "Partition not found. Aborting firmware update"

follow faq 2 of 5 to rebuild the partition table

i'm bit expect linkstation will work 'out of the box' , also i didn't find quick start guide regarding partition and sort of thing...

i also bit surprised that the GUI was in japanese, but i googled and found on how to change it to english
