Is it possible to get a LinkStation 120 to accept long file names - Mac?

Hi all,

I have a LinkStation 120 and when attempting to copy over my iPhoto library it indicated that I could not do so as the file names were too long. Tested it by creating a folder with a larger number of characters in the name and copied it over and received the same dialog.

Is there anyway to set this drive to accept files with long file names or am I stuck?

Thanks for any help that you may be able to give me.

Forgot to mention that I am using firmware 1.47. When I first got this I attempted to upgrade the firmware but it bricked the unit. Someone at Buffalo was kind enough to mount the unit on a Linux machine and roll it back for me to fix it.
