Remote torrent webui

Hi!

 

I have bought a buffalo NAS Linkstation Pro. It was just was i was looking for... or that what i thought. The Nas works perfectly and i am very happy with it, but one the main reasons i chose buffalo was the utorrent client (even when i am from spain and i have to order to the US). I used utorrent on my computer, with the remote utorrent and my android phone. it worked beautifully, but i had to have my computer turned on all the time and i didnt want that, so the torrent client on the NAS was perfect :)

 

my first surprise was that the utorrent client doesn't have the "utorrent remote" wasnt there. it would be a bit more difficult to get it, but there should be a way... well, i haven't found it yet. i have tried several android apps, with different configurations, forwrding ports... i thought buffalonas.com would be some kind of no-ip service, or the remote utorrent, but i just cant make it work, not even the torrent gui on the android browser (chrome, opera, default android browser...) and i am already out of ideas.

 

so, can anyone help me? my idea is to have something like remote utorrent, i look for a torrent somewhere in my phone and it lets me to add it to the nas torrent client, is it possible? could i make remote utorrent work in the nas?

you can forward a port you want to use for remote access to internet port 9090 to the local IP of the NAS.

 

Then use NoIP or DynDNS to access it remotely.

 

IE: http://you-dyndns-name:portnumber

Hi davo, thanks for helping.

 

I use NoIP in my computer, but i don't know how to install it on my buffalo NAS... isn't it the same idea that buffalonas.com/XXX? buffalonas doesn't work, so i would like to try NoIP, can you give me any clue?

There is a pretty nice gadget for win 7/Vista. I probably can't mention the name but it is listed in the Windows gallery for gadgets under utorrent. Just drag a .torrent file to it and it uploads to your PC.

Which is not what he is asking for at all!

 

Anyway, on your router you should be able to register either a dyndns account name or noip name. This will resolve whatever your current WAN IP is to the dyndns name of your choosing.

 

Once done follow the instructions i speciifed in the previous post.

sorry for the delay, but i was out of my home and i coudn't try your solution :)

 

unfortunatly i wasnt able to do it. i tried to set the router, but it is only configured with dyndns and tzodns, but there are not any free option :(

 

then i tried to set the NAS with my no-ip count, in the webserver menu, disabling the buffalonas option, but i didnt get it either... i have doubts about the ports though, i have to set the internat and external port and i am not sure what do i have to do... i tried several options, anyway, it doesnt let me set the internal to 9090 because it is already used (torrent), so i dont know how to set the acceso to the torrent.

 

i cant remember all of the configurations i tried, but today at home i will do a scheme of all my options with router forwardings, nas webserver, dns server and torrent config, and post it to try to get the right combination

could someone help?

 

with the buffaloNAS webserver i can get the curretn ip with :9000, but i am not able to enter that configuration in the torrent client with :9090, which is the torrent port.

the buffaloNAs configuration doesnt work, not even in the same net, i am using transdroid because of that posibility

moreover, it doesnt let me use internal port 9090 on the nas because it is already use
