I love my my Thunderbolt Ministation, however after formatting it on my Mac, the cool original buffalo desktop icon dissapeared.  I really love the icon because it makes the drive stand out, and I want it back  Is there a way to get the Icon back?  Perhaps with a buffalo formatting tool? Please help.

Btw, just in case anyone still has the original Icon, could you please do me a favor and do the following. 1. Right Click on the drive and select Get Info. 2. Select the Drive Icon on the top left corner and hit Command+C 3. Launch Preview and hit Command+N 4. Once the icon is pasted, hit Command+S, and save it to your Desktop as ICNS file (with Alpha checked) 5. Upload it on this forum. Thank you, very, very much. I don't think Buffalo tech will will be able to help me much, but I know those who still have the original Icon will. A piece of advice, if you think about formatting your drive and like the original Icon, please follow the steps above before formatting, and save the Icon so you can restore it after you format the drive. Otherwise you'll end up with a generic yellow apple drive icon. I really love the original because it stand out and represent the cool drive. I really appreciate anyone who can follow the steps above and provide the icon to me. Cheers!

I just had the same issue and wished I would have read your post before reformatting my drive! :(

Have you been able to get an .icns file from anyone for the original image for this hard drive?

I've just used this http://iconverticons.com" target="_blank">free icon converter resource.  They've got some free icons out there, too.

Same thing here. Erased it as soon as I got it and lost the nice icon. Can anyone help us? Thanks a lot in advance!

Attached to this post are the icon files for the unit.

Second file post.  You will need to rename this file MS-Thunderbolt.icns.

Third file post.  This will need to be changed to MS-Thunderbolt.ico

I need the icon as well but I cannot see the attachment here. Would you mind to post it again here (or in Buffalo support/downloads page)?

Thanks again :D

I need the icon file - can someone please post it?

I need it as well; This is ridiculous... This really shouldn't be an issue. I don't understand why they haven't just made it available for download on the web site. Why is it that we as paying customers can't seem to get help with something so simple? I even contacted customer service and after asking me for my serial number, etc they said they "don't have it". It's really gotten out of hand.
