I recently picked up an old TS-1.0TGL/R5 from a friend with no drives.  I stuck a few drives in and was able to get it out of TFTP mode and into EM mode.

However now when I try and use NASUpdater.exe to update the firmware, it isn't able to find the device: "TeraStation can't be found."

NAS Navigator is able to find the device immediately, and correctly reports that it is in EM mode and needs new firmware.

I followed all the steps on FAQ 2/5 but no luck. http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Storage/FAQ-2-of-5-Force-Firmware-update-procedure/td-p/100317" target="_blank">http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Storage/FAQ-2-of-5-Force-Firmware-update-procedure/td-p/100317

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

davo,

Thanks for the reply!  Unfortunately I had the same failure with that version; the only difference is it's not in english.
