I will try another backup software, but the original problem is still there, between the two LinkStation it does'nt works. Yes, we have many smaller files.

JoshC

Apologys for the inconvinece.  We are still trying to create the problem that your having but finding nothing as of yet.

kirk54

I've tried to backup (from the LinkStation to a PC) a folder of the Linkstation with AceBackup 3, and somes files are not copied. At the end of the backup, the Linkstation is still no longer available on the network.

Dustrega

Wait, hold on you're backing up the LS to a PC? Just need some clarification here.

kirk54

There is two problems. A scheduled backup from a LS to another LS doesn't works (see my first message). And a backup of the LS performed from the PC (with AceBackup or Cobian) to a PC doesn't works.

In the Web interface, Network information, i can see :

...

Ethernet Frame Size : 1,518 bytes
Link Speed : 10 Mbps (Half Duplex)
...
Packets Received with Errors : 9 Packets

Can there be a problem with our network ?

Dustrega

The erred packets that you're receiving are most likely from the backup program trying to communicate to the NAS and the NAS isn't giving a return of a typical PC since it's running a Linux based Samba kernel. I could be wrong on that but it's still a thought. As for the LS to LS backup you've got the latest firmware on both devices correct? If so then I would suggest a re-initialization in the maintenance portion of the Web UI. Other than that a force re-flash of the firmware as JoshC might have been illuding to along with said re-initialization might be necessary.

kirk54

Yes, we have the latest firmware (1.07) on both devices. Re-initialization has no effects. I've already made a force re-flash, same results. What's the procedure to a standard exchange ?

Regards.

Dustrega

You would have to contact your regional tech support as I don't know for certain the warranty policy for Europe off-hand in order to setup an exchange.
