Hi,

I have a LS-X1.0TL-EU linkstation live (1TB) which all of a sudden failed to respond other than EM mode. I have removed the hard drive, got a new hard drive (guessing the old one is damaged or corrupt), connected it to a computer using SATA connectors,  and have formatted using GUID partition Table (GPT) and NTFS.

The drive is a 1TB drive just like the old one - I'm now looking for advice on that I do next.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I guess that answers my question to your post on another topic. so You arent suppose to use NTFS, that is a windows base format, You need to leave the drive as unpartition and try it with the TFTP. Once in EM Mode do a force update

Thanks, so just initialise the disk with GUID partition table (GPT) ?

Just follow the post here. Davo pretty much explained everything. http://forums.buffalotech.com/index.php?topic=20291.msg82645#msg82645

I just like to leave the disk unpartition, Sometimes I have had the unit take the firmware after TFTP and the give me no partition available issue, Which I have to waste another 10 minutes or so to fix. lol cant buy time.
