After editing an MS-Word file form the HD station, I cannot save it back there using a simple save

I have a HD-CELU2 network storage station device (NAS). I keep shared files of two types there; MS-Word and small Excel (.XLS) files there. I can open edit and save the .XLS files but not the MS-Word files. I am using
MS-Word 2002 SP3. Tech support has no idea why not.

 

The workaround I use is to save it locally then copy it to the NAS. That is annoying.

I would first try to get all of your windows updates by choosing custom then getting all 3 categories hardware, software, critical updates.

 

I will also try to reproduce this error.
