Hello. I have Buffalo Linkstation Mini 1TB (Firmware 1.04)

Connected to my zyxel Prestige 660HW-61

It did work ok on my desktop computer when i had win2000.

I now have WinXP Pro (clean install on new drive)

The Short cut (icon on desktop) don't work like it did on my w2k

(it used to open a new window with directory listing of Linkstation on it)

Now it does absolutely nothing.

I can access it with web admin. And i did manage get there by typing IP (192...)

On the short cut icon (Properties) there is something like this: Target: c:\Program Files\BUFFALO\NASNAVI\NasNavi.exe /open LS-WSGL059

Even tried to execute that same in CMD aka shell aka windows command line but no luck. No errors, nothing.

Any ideas ?

I would just remap the drive.

Go Start> Run> type in \\IP of LS

Right click the folder you wish to access and select map network drive.

It will then show up in your "My Computer" as the drive letter you selected.

 and

 When i  Go Start> Run> type in ftp:\\192.168.1.35

Are you sure it still has the same IP address fro the router? Do you have it dymanically assigned or static? Open the Nas Navigator and let us know the hostname and current IP. Are you able to reach the shares when you go throw the Nas Navigator? What anti virus and firewall are you using? Try and disable them first.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
Having network issues? Drop me an email: info@interwebsireland.com and we will get it fixed!

Have i helped you? Buy me a coffee as a thanks!

it has a IP address: 192.168.1.35. Its dynamic address Hostname: LS-WSGL059

I can access that ip just fine with ftp and transfer files.

progs: AVG Anti-virus free edition and WIN own firewall (and in exceptions Nas navigator2)

It used to open web browser when i click "browse" on Nas navigator2.

Just to get the Shortcut icon workin would be nice.

Turn off the Windows Firewall and Anti-Virus firewall if there is one.

Then try mapping the drive again, if the unit is not giving any errors and you can FTP to it you should be able to access via smb. Seems like something could be blocking it.

Do you have any other comps?
