Author Topic: Jumbo Frame size on Realtek GBE PCIe NIC Card not playing nice with Linkstation Pro Duo?  (Read 2490 times)

It is nice that the LinkStation tells the exact Jumbo Frame size it will use in bytes.  However, my Gigabit NIC card (a Realtek) only offers the size of "9KB MTU" in the driver options.  Whenever I set this up on both ends, I drop all kinds of packets to the NAS.  I read up and found that if there are differing MTU sizes, packets will be dropped.

So my question is:

Does anyone know how to tell what size the 9K MTU setting on my NIC actually is in Bytes?

Have other people with this setup come across this problem?  I'm pretty sure it happened after a Windows Update driver update to the NIC.  However, I went and downloaded the latest on the Realtek site and still have the problem.

Thanks for any input.

Did you change settings on the linkstation's ethernet frame size and start getting this issue?
